Reflection:

This course introduced me to the world of web design. Through this course, I learned about XHTML, CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) and web accessibility guidelines as defined in Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0). This course took my technology skills to a whole knew level; web design was a complex field for me, but this course walked us step by step into learning all the main codes of web design which we then used to develop our own standards-based website using XHTML 1.0 and CSS.

The first website that I designed in this course was my initial PhD portfolio. I used Dreamweaver CS5 to design it, and it was a good practice for CSS and disability accessibility.  This course helped me alot in using other web design tools such as Google sites, WordPress, and Web Expression 4.
